PPA Highlights

Learn more about the Health Programs Expo:

Annual Spring Health Programs Expo

Each spring, the PPA Health Programs Expo provides an exceptional opportunity for attendees to learn about the variety of health careers available to them, the credentials needed to enter those fields, and to speak directly with representatives from programs in the Midwest and beyond.

“The Health Programs Expo has been an excellent opportunity for me to ask questions about different schools, see what each emphasizes in their program, learn more about the curriculum, see if they have mentorship programs, etc., and compare what they share to what I think I would be interested in prioritizing when choosing which schools to apply to. “ -Sheila Patel, Purdue Health and Disease student, Pre-med.

“There is so much information at the Health Programs Expo. At the Expo, you can learn about surrounding schools and their requirements and even talk to faculty about the application process and what they may look for an applicant. Now that I am applying, this information is extremely helpful. “

“It is very important to attend because you get to talk to recruiters from the colleges you’re applying to and learn about their programs from them. You may also find programs that match what you are looking for that you did not know about before. “ – Madisen Pivoney, Microbiology & Genetics student, Pre-Vet.

- Meghan Jennings, Purdue Kinesiology student, Pre-PT.

For current pre-professional students interested in volunteering with the PPA, consider applying to be a student ambassador. Our ambassadors are a vital part of our office. They help us at Purdue recruiting events, speak with us in classes, and represent our office around campus. We rely on them for feedback about services and for suggestions. In return, they gain important skills they can use to demonstrate competencies in their professional applications such as social skills, communication skills, cultural competency, reliability, and professionalism.

Don’t take our word for it, hear from our student ambassadors:

“I appreciate that I can share my experiences and inform other students about different resources provided by the PPA office, which have been helpful in my own pursuit of medical school.”

“I love the opportunities given such as different mentor opportunities, sources for professional school and the variety of different skills you can gain as a PPA ambassador.”
