The first paragraph expresses your sincere appreciation. Make your thank-you note warm and personal.
The second paragraph reemphasizes your strongest qualifications and connects the reader back to something specific you discussed during the interview. This will help the reader remember you as an individual if they interviewed multiple candidates for the position. Draw attention to the good match between your qualifications and the job requirements. The final paragraph reiterates your interest in the position. Use the opportunity to provide or offer supplemental information not previously given or discussed. Restate your appreciation for the interviewer’s time and consideration.

NOTE: Handwritten thank-you notes would be more concise, typically considering all three paragraphs into one shorter one. In addition, you would not need to include the formal contact information formatting at the top if sending handwritten or as the body of an email. It is recommended that all thank-you notes be sent within 24 hours of the interview or career fair, or as soon as possible thereafter.
